As in America, the regulations are valid. The rate of the abortion is becoming lower and lower. Now that legal law of abortion does lower the rate of making an abortion and it surely occurs in the world, we can make it licit, then supervise it strictly, and prevent conception effective.
Some human right organizations argue that each human bring has right to live. They claim that we can’t kill growing lives and deprive them of the rights to grow up. However, what about the mother’s feeling? Some women are conceiving a baby under an unbearable condition such as being raped. Under this situation, should the mother have no right to decide to do the surgery? She is forced to have a sex and have a baby accidentally. How can she face her baby that bears horrible memories? Besides that, some mothers do not have a good physical condition to have a baby. If they insist on delivering infants, it will not only have a higher possibility of death to the mother but also to the the child. For example, people who have severe heart problems and asthma are not suitable for conceiving a baby because during the period of pregnancy, the mothers don’t have sufficient physical strength to support themselves and give energy to her babies. In order to avoid the tragedy of two lives, the only solution is to do abortion. However, this action is based on the right of human live.
Law, restrictive or liberal, doesn’t influence a woman’s decision to have an abortion. As in Taiwan, the restrictions are very strict; nevertheless, the rate of abortion in Taiwan, especially in September of every year is still very high. According to the statistics from the Bureau of Public Health, those who attempt to do the surgery often resort to the illicit means such as consulting unqualified doctor or taking the unprescribed pills, RU-486. The research also indicated that the number of death from the unlawful way is extremely high and the age of abortion victims is around 16 to 24, the blossoming age of a woman. As in Thailand, abortion in there is illegal. Ironically, a survey shows that Thailand‘s mortality ratio of illegal abortions is ten times than that of legal path. Even if the law is restrictive, it can’t effectively lower the number of abortion.

I compare the Taiwan’s and America’s number of abortion. In Taiwan, the regulation concerning the abortion is conditional and not loose; on the contrary, in the US, the law of abortion is liberal. I found an interesting survey between Taiwan and the US. The research indicates that the abortion rate in Taiwan is five times more than that in America. Besides, abortion is illegal in most countries of Africa. However, in Ethiopia, its Health Ministry said that abortion is the second-leading cause of death among women admitted to hospitals. Another study said that it is the cause of 13 percent of maternal deaths at hospitals in Nigeria. In South Africa, the abortion procedure was made legal in 1996; some studies found that it leaded to a 90 percent decrease in mortality among women who had abortions. Therefore, the above information shows that passing the law can make government authorities effectively supervise the procedure of the surgery.
Besides passing the law, the government should pay more attention to the education of contraception. Now that the action of abortion is unavoidable, we make it legalized rather than clandestine. Once the law is legalized, the government can watch the medical system, train certificated doctors to do safe surgery and prescribe the proper dose of pills to women. It not only protects the lives of mother but also avoids the abuse of RU-486. At the same time, with the safe system of abortion to women, the administration also promotes the prevention and the knowledge of contraception. For example, in America, a recent survey shows that the education of contraception does work to lower the unplanned pregnancies. The Guttmacher Institute’s president, Sharon Camp, said that almost two-thirds of the decline in the total number of abortions, which also shows that no abortion restriction with a commitment to real sex education helps women avoid unintended pregnancies.
The problem of abortion occurs in every country. The aim of law making is to reduce abortion cases. Wavering between the two sides that is legal or not, we take a side that will make the procedure performed far easier and safer, making the prevention done even easier than that in the other side. Therefore, I argue that we should pass the law of abortion and at the same time, promote the complete education of contraception.

travel broadens our minds
There is an old saying goes that travel broadens our mind. That’s true! If we travel more often than not, we might gain the experiences which are not easy to obtain from books or from our living surroundings. On the contrary, if we read a lot, we might acquire knowledge which can enlarge our scope. Consequently, combining experiences and reading together, we would make ourselves more progress than ever.
When young, we have little know about this world; however, through touching, watching, questioning, listening, even or hurting, we are able to gain knowledge whether can do or not and whether is proper or not. With time goes by, when growing up, we have learned something that only we get through we will know the true feeling of them such as love, friendship, travel and so on. Good relationships among you and your lover, friends, teachers, parents, and siblings need to get through a period of confliction or friction, which you try very hard to make them complete. Most of all spend all of our lives to learn such important lessons for we keep on going our steps; therefore we must keep on striving for our lives and make them better by continuing learning

Semi-official language, English, in Taiwan.
Some legislators would like to pass a bill that makes English become official or semi-official language in Taiwan. If the bill is balloted, it would bring a number of impacts no matter on education or on culture. This change would be a reverse for the whole country. In education, for instance, for a very long time, our educational policies in English have focused on grammar and reading. If we plan to make English blend into our daily lives, especially in our everyday speech, the teaching guidelines shouldn’t follow the old way as they used to be done. However, we cannot neglect the development of our native language, Chinese. If we over-emphasize the English courses, we might gradually lose our radical knowledge concerning our native language and fail to completely develop another language as an official language due to the fact that a successful official language is related to its culture. Take Singapore as an example, it is a country that dwells different races that originated from different countries speaking different languages; nevertheless, they uses their official language, English, to communicate and to trade with other races and in school, they use English to teach different races. On the contrary, in Taiwan, the majority of our forefathers originated from China. Our background is not like Singapore, a mixture of different races. Although English is an international language, we don’t need to be so hurried to carry out that policy. Such being the case, we might violate our primitive advantage because the standing of Chinese becomes more and more crucial than ever before in this global village. People from all over the world soak in the trend of learning Chinese. However, there is no denying that English is still the most popular language in the world. If we learn it better, we will have more opportunities to keep the pace of the world. Thus, our government can advocate the benefit of learning English, but it is very essential for every Taiwanese to learn our native language well.

Msn Live Messenger
Almost every college student has a password of MSN messenger, which becomes one of the most popular media to communicate and to interchange information. After class, they get used to logging on MSN to chat, sharing their feelings with their friends on line. It seems a new way to express yourself. For example, we type some words about our today’s feeling. Sometimes, you use the words that are puns or rhyme to make a sentence that is full of sense of humor, showing the feeling of today to your MSN friends. Besides that, you can enjoy others’ status which is updating and changes very fast. I think that watching the on-line status is very interesting. From time to time, I observe my friends’ on line status and chat how does she or he feel today? Through the message they left, it reveals some clue to know my friends’ more. If I see my friend’s status is not good today, I will leave a message asking her or him what’s going on, and I will leave the encouraging on-line status to cheer my friend up. Not only that, my 22nd birthday, some of my friends gave me their wish on their status, and send me message. They are so sweet even they are far away from me, still remembering my birthday. Although some people say that technology makes people become isolated, this software help me get closer to my friends.

Children with this symptom are likely to be hostile and disobedient. The researcher said that they tend to argue with their parents, refuse to follows the chores, argue with their teachers, and blame others for their own mistakes.
A study picks adolescents who had been adopted before age 2. When they are about 15 years old, the researchers test their psychological interview for their depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Comparatively, the researchers also choose some non-adoption teens for the study. The result shows that they are all psychologically healthy.
However, the rate of ADHD is quiet different. ODD and ADHD of adopted teens is doubled to that of the non-adopted teens. The adopted youngsters have no increased risk for depression and anxiety.
But the reason for the higher rate of ADHD and ODD is the genetic factors. That is, the adopted children are surrounded by the alcohol and drug environment before they are adopted. The exposure is the major factor for their higher risk of ADHＤ, and it do affect their mental health.
Although the adopted youngsters have higher risk for ADHD, their adopted parents have better educated background and financial condition and can help these children to have a proper treatment.
An interesting study shows that the rate of ADHD for adopted children in another country is lower than that in the US, but the reason is unknown and unclear.

Happy Mother’s Day.
It has been a long time for me to have a dinner with my families. My sister has always been busy with her works. My parents are also as busy as bees. My brother needs to go to cram school even on the weekends. As for me, I study in Taichung, seldom coming home. Even if I am home, I stay just for a while, then setting out to my second home, Taichung. Every time I come home, I talk not much with my parents and my brother; they all have something that has to do. We don’t have much time to sit down and talk what we have done recently, not to speak of talking heart to heart. I think that chatting through the telephone and talking face to face is totally different. Therefore, I treasure the time we get together. With the eye contact, facial expression and the laugh, I extremely enjoy the meal at this night. This is the time we don’t have to put on airs and just be ourselves to talk freely, without any pressure to talk. I love this moment. However, I also feel very pity that when we grow up, the chances like this are becoming less and less because we all have own things to be busy with. The time we share together is less and less. It is inevitable to avoid it happen. So, on this special day, we should spare our time to have a hearty dinner with our families. The moment should not be neglected and should be emphasized. My dear mother, I hope you will be healthy and happy all the time.

Media affects our society a lot
There are more and more people say that the media are losing their standards of reporting the facts of the incidents in Taiwan. Ironically, the publics tend to pay less attention to the cogent news sometimes for the reason that this kind of news is far less amusing than gossip ones. Judging from the phenomena, some argue that the media reflect society; others conceive vice versa. As far as I am concerned, I believe that both the media and society affect the circumstance of each other.
Turning on the television, we can see the same news being reported again and again even lasting a day, a week, and a mouth. The content of the news is continually being stretched. From time to time even the least related matter can be produced into another news report. As long as there are some links related to that report, there are opportunities to give a presentation to the screen. These kinds of topic reports will be presented to the programs until there is no one interested in this event or there is another topic more sensational than prior one. Every news topic is as a series of soap opera, and the viewers seem to expect what the plot develops.
It’s hard to tell apart the reflection between the media and society especially in such a chaotic and disorder society. However, this kind of turmoil is able to attribute to the freedom that we overdo. Under the same situation, we have the right to turn on or off the programs that the media offer on account that the remote control is on our hands. If the programs are awful, of course we have the dominance to refuse watching them. Moreover, the journalists also have the responsibility to offer us multifarious programs for selection just as diverse society.

My New Job
Recently, I work as a tutor at a cram school. Although before I worked some jogs as this one, I feel quite different from the other ones. I have worked here for around one and a half mouth. I feel very comfortable and unstressful there because the chief and coworker all treat me very well and the atmosphere there is peaceful and soothing. The working content is to instruct three elementary children to practice their basic knowledge about English pronouncing rules, then enforcing their sentence structure and grammar rules. I take responsible for them because they can’t keep the pace of the class so that they have to have the extra instruction to let them be familiar with the learned English. After they are familiar with what they have learned, they will create the new ones.
From the time we get along, I find that they are smart definitely but very naughty. Although they are very naughty, they are sure to be humorous and talkative. I think that if they can transfer their naughty energy into the motive of learning and the talkativeness into speaking English, they will surely have powerful capacity of English learning. I am very sure my observation. My chief give me much space to teach them English and tell me that it doesn’t matter reproach them or take out my authority. However, I think that it is a good way to make a friend with them and then I will be much closer to them.

This week, I heard a piece of news about the fact that the better lifestyle leads to a longer life. The summary of this piece of news is as the follows.
There are more and more very old people in US. The population of old people grows very fast. Those old people are not all healthy, but they have healthy lives. The news says that there are 700 very old people are not very healthy and even one-third of them have chronic disease, but they are still over 100 years old just because they have healthy lifestyle. A very old woman who has high blood pressure and respiratory disease says that “Before I got married, I was a student nurse. In those days, I walked and walked and walked. I didn’t have a car.” She has already set a habit of exercising in her daily life. Because of that, she lives very long. In addition to an active lifestyle, the news also indicates that avoiding smoking can not only avoid obesity and diabetes but also can control blood pressure. Another good lifestyle to stay healthy is to take part in group activities. Keep active to create new friendships.
After listening to this news, I think that keeping healthy is very important. Exercising regularly, having a good friendship, and positive attitude to life are crucial to longevity. There are more and more very old people in US. The population of old people grows very fast. Those old people are not all healthy, but they have healthy lives. The news says that there are 700 very old people are not very healthy and even one-third of them have chronic disease, but they are still over 100 years old just because they have healthy lifestyle. A very old woman who has high blood pressure and respiratory disease says that “Before I got married, I was a student nurse. In those days, I walked and walked and walked. I didn’t have a car.” She has already set a habit of exercising in her daily life. Because of that, she lives very long. In addition to an active lifestyle, the news also indicates that avoiding smoking can not only avoid obesity and diabetes but also can control blood pressure. Another good lifestyle to stay healthy is to take part in group activities. Keep active to create new friendships.
After listening to this news, I think that keeping healthy is very important. Exercising regularly, having a good friendship, and positive attitude to life are crucial to longevity. Even though we are not very healthy, we still have to be positive toward life. If we are active and optimistic, we will watch the world differently. It will be beneficial for our health. On the other hand, better lifestyle actually affects health and mood. spring break in Kenting and Kaohsiung
This spring break, my schoolmates and I had a three-day-two-night trip to Kaohsiung and Kenting. We enjoyed the gentle sunshine, the salty and damp breeze, local cuisine and hot hospitality there. The first day, we got up early and took train to Kaohsiung to meet our best tour guide, Teresa who is my school sister and treated us in the highest hospitality. We arrived at kaohsiung about 12 o’clock. She had already been waiting us at the entrance for a long time, which she was a rather excellent host. Then, she took us to Chi Jin Harbor to taste seafood which contains lobster, conch, oyster, and so on. The taste of the food is beyond my description. I don’t know how to say how delicious they are. You can’t image how fresh they are until you taste it. Next, we went to take ferry to appreciate the beauty of the southern bay, bathing in the salty and warm breeze. In my hometown, it’s hard to have chance to enjoy beach scenery, so I really appreciate Teresa take me to the bay and the beach. At night, we went to the most famous market in Kaohsiung, Liu He Night Market. In my surprise, whatever kind of food we bought is so yummy and tasty, even it is so common to buy anywhere. However, in Kaohsiung, the common food is so special and delicious to me. The second day, we woke up very early to set out to Kenting to snorkel, and take yacht. On the road to Kenting, along the line of ocean, I think that even a blink is a waste. The scenery is so beautiful and the weather is so nice. Though I am a Taiwanese, I didn’t know that southern Taiwan is so beautiful before. The water is clean, the coral is colorful, and the species of fish are multiplex. The most unforgettable moment of this trip is the passion and hospitality of southern Taiwanese. Every one wears a broad smile and is willing to offer a helping hand to travelers. Especially, thanks my school sister, Teresa, for planning a wonderful trip for us. I don’t know how to describe my appreciation. To sum up, thank all. I love this trip very much. Love you guys.

The most unforgettable day in NCHU
I will never forget the first day I came to NCHU, and the first sight I saw when I arrived in the dorm room. When I opened the door of the dorm, I saw a gorgeous girl who seems like a mix blood with fair skin and delicate facial features. But as soon as she uttered the first word, I realized that one of my roommates was definitely a foreigner, a Thai girl. I was shocked and stunned as figuring out this situation for the reason that it was the first time of me to live in the dorm even to live with a foreigner. That was not enough to depict my astonishment.
The following scene that I saw when I entered the room would be another shock was far more stunning than that of the former one. While I took my package into my own place, I could feel that there was another female lying on the bed tumbling. Therefore, I am scared to bother her fond dream. I moved my stuff lightly, afraid of making too much noise to break the harmony of the whole room. Obviously, I failed. Another female waked up. Soon I figured out that female seems totally and completely different with my expected image of another roommate. She had blond hair and azure eyes (maybe green, orange, or brown eyes. We called them mix-colored eyes after our discussion about this topic.)
A questioning and uncertain feeling conjured up in my mind after I first encountered this strange situation. I asked myself, “Am I in Taiwan? Am I in Taichung? Am I in NCHU? Why are my roommates foreigners? Is it possible that I am a DFLL student?” No answer really. However, the later days of getting along with them were the most unforgettable moment of my dormitory life without any question.
The Thai girl with fair skin and delicate facial features taught me how to cook Thai cuisine. The other Turkish girl with mix-colored eyes let me know what the Turkish humor is. She always insisted her own opinion and suggestion; however, she pretended that she didn’t insist and would respect your own decision. On the contrary, she might keep on using another reason to persuade you to follow her so that she could attain her goal. Strangely, I don’t detest this way of indirect communication at all. She is so humorous and glamorous that I can’t reject her arbitrary suggestion and roundabout words.
I’m very glad to have that day to lead me into this global room. They teach me how to tolerate the cultural difference and appreciate it despite of the point that they just stayed here not a very long time But I think a good relationship is nothing to do with the length of time but the process of going through. Even now they have gone back to their countries, and I still miss them sometimes and recall the days we’re through.

the importance of class design
In “Is Anybody Listening?” David Daniel mentions that American teachers and students of colleges and universities today are charged not doing well on their works. According to David’s aspect to college education, he argues that lectures are not suitable for freshmen and sophomores for the reason that they are not well-trained in grasping idea and taking notes of a long lecturing. Mr. Daniel suggests that lectures should be taken action to juniors, seniors, or graduate students, then all of whom group a discussion after the classes, which would be more effective for learning. On the other hand, as for freshmen and sophomores, administrators and faculty might design a series smaller class for them to end their passivity and to give their feedbacks to instructors. However, nowadays most of universities don’t have the effective design of classes for students; even in my school there is still some space to be improving for student’s independent learning.
I have taken a course called “General Knowledge Lectures” which contains around two thousands student taking this class. The regulations of this class are that taking a page note that you just need to write down from the speaker’s power point file and to attend the class ten times. Then, you will definitely get the credit. During the class, I often saw some of students falling sleep and doing their own things when they finished their notes. After the speech, the instructor asked everyone had any question; nevertheless, we had packed our stuff looking bored and wanting the class over soon. The worst of this class is that they take the notes away. So even you want to review what you have written down from the class, you have no reference. I truly have no understanding why we have to spend a semester sitting there and learn seldom.
General knowledge originally means that you can get some general knowledge from other field which you are not familiar with and can broaden your knowledge. However, I think that such a huge space will be easy to distract your attention and is hard to concentrate on professor’s presentation. Therefore, why the administrators deem these courses as required subjects? There is no need for us to spend a long period to do an ineffective work. The original meaning of the general knowledge courses is beneficial for our learning, but they are practiced in this lecturing way that might reduce the effectiveness of learning of students especially for freshmen. This way of teaching might make freshmen student decrease their interests in developing another specialty. Besides, owing to the fact that there are even more students in one class, between the professor and the students is lack of interaction. Professor cannot understand how much his or her listeners absorb. In contrast, listeners don’t know where their problems are.
Moreover, if students don’t know how to take up their questions, it will be sure to affect their learning. A good learner is supposed to be a question asker. However, how to find where our questions are needs to be trained by asking question often. From the asking process, they will learn the core of the question, making more progress in a field. In the way of searching solution, they will also acquire the ability of giving comments and analyzing the questions. Nevertheless, I think that this progress needs to learn from the interaction between discussions or with teachers. After being a good question asker, next they will be more likely to have ability to think independently and find out the answer.

Besides that, my dormitory accommodates four integrated desks and beds at two against sides of the wall. One of it shows Thai style, being put a lot of cans and bottles with winding and twisting words and stuck numerous memorandums that are taken note by that twisting language. If you want to figure it out, the quicker way is to pray to your holy God that your next reincarnation is a native Thai. On these four desks, there is no surprise to see PC or laptop at each desk owing to the fact that modern and technological devices are without borders. In order to log on the internet, each computer needs a cyber wire. Cyber plug is far; however, along the trace you can see the tape mark no matter new or the dwellers of former left so as to fix the cyber wire. That tells us how charming and fascinating this gentleman, Mr. Internet. There is no denying that no one will reject him to bump into lives.

Exchange Schoolmates
Exchanging schoolmates’ msn seems popular in every university even in graduate school. This week, it was my first time to exchange my msn address to others because my school sister is PR of her class at this semester. One day, she asked me that did you want to join this interesting exchanging game and she had numerous name lists from the far most northern to the far most eastern university or graduate students majoring in different fields. These name lists include very famous national university even medical school and the rule of this game is that one who picks your msn address belongs to a male.
This game is from a long school tradition and lets us makes friends from other department of our school or other school. I observe that in addition to make friends from other school, I can make friends having different talents and skills. For example, in this week, there were about 10 males joining my msn address, one of whom was a physical school student, good at taekwondo. Therefore, we got a deal which he taught me self defense and I taught him English. Another one is also from physical school, majoring in Tennis, so my school sister and I got a deal that he plays as our tennis coach, and we will be his English tutors.
Not only making the friends who exchanging our majors but also knowing some people from the same home town, some of them are from Jongli. We have the same topic because of we are all from the same place but study in other place. Besides that, I also met a guy who loves listening to the music as well. We share good music to each other and interchange knowledge about music. I am able to receive lovely music from him; on the other hand, I can give my favorite songs to him. It’s wonderful to meet different kinds of people from different places. I love this game.

Enya-long long journey "Amamentine"
There are a variety of accidents happening in the world no matter what is happy or tragic just as updating news. Life is like a long long journey being through by a combination of different sections. Bitterness and sweetness seem to be unavoidable components in our lives. Every time I read latest news, I feel that I am so small even tiny. Compared to blooding news, I will appreciate that I am so lucky that I am able to breathe sweet air, walk elegantly in my campus, go to classes, and pay attention to grasp new knowledge. On other corner of the world, there are many homeless or oppressed children without any chance to learn because of the unstable government status. They can’t choose for their own living owing to the time when they were born, they are doomed to live in a society full of armies and bullets. They are deprived of the right of living in a normal way or growing up with the care of the government, not to speak of the right of learning. On the other head, there is a lot of meaningful news reporting over the world such as new inventions to be convenient to our lives and good policies to improve our lives. Although there are some people breaking the social harmony, there are some other people rebuilding it. I hope that I can give a helping hand to the world on the rest of my life as long as I have opportunities or somebody needs me.

The song above is one of my friends, Mei, sharing with me. I really love this kind of cozy music, which can release the tense from daily life. Often, when staying alone in my little world, my comfortable chamber, I will turn on the player listening my favorite songs. At this moment, even doing nothing, i still feel life is contented and full of happiness. Recalling an aticle written by Virginia Woolf sais that "Every woman needs her own room to think." Exactly, only when this moment can I get full involvement into my deep fantasy and recreate a brand-new world in my fantastic world. Everything could happen in my little world. Even though the world is little, my imagination is boundless. With the lovely melody, I could not merely bath in my imaginative world but also get rid of the daily weary trifle.

Not only that but also her first album, The Kite's Runner has been nominated by many notable international awards. She is a British having a talent in song writing and chanting. Good bye 2007,Hello 2008
See you next year. It sounds like a joke, but it’s true. Last night, a league of our friends gathered together to celebrate the New Year’s coming. Getting together as it is, we shared the atmosphere of reunion together. Each one is from different place, but we are very lucky to meet in here, being through the same moment. With the second after second, we counted down the last minute of 2007. I realize that I’m not alone. Even though sometimes I miss the past living surrounding of mine, which I used to live on, I am still pushed by the transparent flow of time, reminding me that I should keep on going for progressing. There is always a child in my inner mind refusing to grow up. I always know that. Also, I always know that I need to grow up. I am always struggling between being a child and growing up. I am very glad to receive the news of my old friends at this brand-new day of 2008, and I am also very glad to know ones, who accompany with me now, more. I am so gregarious that I can’t live alone. Thanks everyone who steps into my life no matter what way he or she leaves tracks in my road of my life. I am very appreciated, just like the fireworks I saw last night. Those are illuminating and dazzling. The scenery I saw just like everybody I have encountered so far that is unique and beautiful to me.
